The Vakhtangov 
theatre  performance  based  on  the  songs  of  Marlene  Dietrich  in  the 
production of  Angelica Cholina of  2008,  lived a short but a really vivid 
life on the stage of  the theatre,  having obtained a huge  number of  
fans. The  legendary  fashion  designer,  a member of  the  French 
Academy  of  Fine  Arts,  Pierre  Cardin  has  visited the Vakhtangov  Theater, 
where especially  for  him  “The  Coast of  women”  was performed, and has
become one of  its  admirers. The main compliment for  the cast  from him
was the  fact that  the maestro himself  has  wished to go up on the stage
and congratulate the actors. ” Marlene  Dietrich, for me is a
heroine of  the twentieth century, a  great  woman and actress. Of  course ,
I  cannot  remain  indifferent listening  to  her voice,  and  I was very
excited  today,  reliving  these  songs  of  hers – so  familiar  and  dear  to 
me, I  admired  the acting  works  in  the  performance  –  they 
are  all  great  dancers,  and  their  parts  are full  of  emotions  irony  and 
sense” –  shared  his impressions  the  Maitre. The  TV channel  “Culture” 
has  created  a  television  version  of  the  play,  saving  it  for  the 
theatre-goers  for  many  years  to  come. The  first  television  broadcast  of 
the  performance  “The  Coast of  Women”  will  be  held  on  August  31, at
10.55 p.m. Not so long ago, another Vakhtangov performance –
“Troilus and Cressida”  by  William  Shakespeare,  directed by  Rimas Tuminas 
was presented on  the TV channel  “Culture”.
