“Anna Karenina” is a participant of the XV International Theatre Festival in Havana.

October, 22  to November 3,  the XV International Theatre Festival will be
held in Havana. Forty theater companies from 20 countries of Latin 
America, Europe and Asia will become the participants of this event. A
special place in the program of  the festival organizers dedicated to
Konstantin Stanislavsky. This year the world celebrates the 150th
anniversary of  his birth. International Theatre Festival in Cuba for the first time was held in
1980. Its main aim is to bring to the stage the new trends, ideas and
suggestions, as well as to demonstrate the most notable works of world
theater. The honorable mission of  the festival opening is laid on the Vakhtangov
Theater, which will present a dance performance named  “Anna Karenina”
directed by Angelica Cholina on the novel by Leo Tolstoy, on October 24
and 25 at the National Theater of  Cuba. The program of the tour includes a press conference with the
participants and creators of the show. The choreographer Angelica
Cholina will arrange a creative meeting with the audience. Besides,
Cuban colleagues will have an opportunity to visit a masterclass of the
Artistic director of the Vakhtangov theatre Rimas Tuminas. In addition to a performance, the Vakhtangov company brings a photo
exhibition in Havana, which reflects the most important facts of the
theatre biography. Among the exhibits, in particular, there are pictures
of  Mikhail  Ulyanov, Yulia Borisova and other famous Vakhtangov stars
during a visit to Moscow of  Fidel Castro and the legendary Che Guevara.
