“Eugene Onegin” worldwide tour is about to start!
The Vakhtangov
theatre is starting its great worldwide tour with the production “Eugene
Onegin”. Vilnus was thought as a first city to visit not by mere chance – it is
a Motherland of the theatre’s Artistic director Rimas Tuminas.
The Vakhtangov
company is always a frequent and a very welcome guest in Lithuania.
The performances “Troilus and Cressida”, “Uncle Vanya”,
“The Masquerade”, “Last Moons”, “Medea” and others
have gained a lot of admirers among the Lithuanian audience. In the framework of
the tour in Vilnius there will be held not only performances, but also evenings
with the creators of performances, workshops, press conferences with the
participation of the Vakhtangov company.
In the middle of November the Vakhtangov Theatre will arrive in Vilnius to
present the premiere of its new production “Eugene Onegin” directed
by Rimas Tuminas, which was launched recently – on February 13 and 14, 2013 .
The play will be presented on November 13,14 at the National Drama Theatre of
Lithuania.
November 15, Vladimir Simonov, Maxim Sukhanov and Vladimir Vdovichenkov
will perform in the production “The Wind in the Poplars” (a play by J. Sibleyras)
directed by Rimas Tuminason the stage of the Drama theater.
The worldwide tour
with “Eugene Onegin” will continue in St.Petersburg in November, in January six
performances will be shown to Parisian audience, in June the theatre will be
received in New York – Boston – Toronto, not to forget about Riga, Tallin,
London and Athens.
