President Vladimir Putin presented outstanding figures of culture and science, servicemen and astronauts , athletes and agricultural workers with state awards. The awarding ceremony traditionally held at the Catherine Hall of the Kremlin. Total awards were presented to more than 40 people.

People’s Artist of the USSR Vasily Lanovoi awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky for merits in development of Russian theater and cinematographic art.
