The title of “People’s Artist of the Russian Federation” was awarded to Yuriy Shlykov
Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 31.03.2014 № 187 for his great contribution in the development of theatre, music and cinematographic art the title of “People’s Artist of the Russian Federation” was awarded toY. Shlykov. Yuri Veniaminovich Shlikov graduated from the Theatre School named after B.Shchukin (course of V.Lvova) in 1974.
In the period from 1976 to 1979 worked as an actor of the Drama and Comedy Theatre, after which in 1981 joined the Vakhtangov Theater company.
Y.Shlikov is a Professor of the Acting Department at the Theatre School named after B.Shchukin. Among its graduates Alexey Zav’yalov, Anna Antonova, Sergei Epishev, Oleg Lopukhov, Yuri Chursin, Valeria Lanskaya and many others.
In the beloved theater Yuri Shlikov has played many memorable and bright roles, among them Bertrand in “The Rose and the Cross”, Vronsky in the production of “Anna Karenina”, Edilbiev in “A day lasts longer than a century”, The Commissioner in “The wounded”, Petrovich in the production “What keeps people alive”, the Presiding in “The Small Tragedies “, Sextus Pompey in “Antony and Cleopatra “, Robber in “Zoyka’s apartment”, Gustave in “The Miracle of St.Anthony”, Earl of Gloucester in “Lear”, Ishmael in “The Princess Turandot”, Yusuf in “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves”, Mr. Dimanche in “Don Juan” and Chamberlain in “Princess Yvonne”.
Y.Shlykov’s parts in the Vakhtangov Theatre performances are: “Cyrano de Bergerac” (de Guiche); “The Masquerade” (Neizvestnii), “The Haven” (Burgermeister ), “The Demons” (Stepan Trofimovich Verhovensky), “Eugene Onegin” (The Prince).
Y. Shlikov works as a film actor since 1970 (the first part was Sanka Krupnov in the film “The Origins”) . Today, his filmography consists of more than seventy films. We heartily congratulate Yuri Veniaminovich on this honorary title!
