Yury Liubimov. International Theatre Conference.
April 23, 2014 the International Conference dedicated to the work of an outstanding director and reformer Yuri Lyubimov and his role in the national and world thatre, will take place in the Main Foyer of the Vakhtangov Theatre. Among guests of the conference are: Yuri Lyubimov, the director Anatoly Vasiliev, Rimas Tuminas, Theodoros Terzopoulos (Greece), Tadashi Suzuki (Japan), the composer Vladimir Martynov, the actress Galina Konovalova, Katya Dandulaki (Greece), the writer Andrey Bittis, literary critics Yuri Mann and Evgeny Sidorov, a theater historian, Yuri Lyubimov works’ researcher Beatrice Picon-Vallin (France), the Director of the Avignon Festival of the years 1980-84 and 1993-2003 Bernard Faivre d’Arcy, Olivier Zhel – in the recent past a touring director of the theatre “Comedie Francaise”, Adriano Del’Asta – the Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Moscow, a theatre critic and theatre-researcher Vlasta Smolakova and many others. The conference is organized by the International A.Chekhov Theatre Festival upon an initiative and due to the support of the Department of Culture of Moscow, as well as the Bolshoi and the Vakhtangov Theatre. The event starts at 12.00p.m. Later on the same day, the production of “The Demons”(launched by Maestro in 20912) after F.Dostoevsky will be performed on the Main Stage of the Vakhtangov Theatre.
