The Vakhtangov Theatre opens its doors to the audience in September, but among the first visitors at the service entrance, after long summer holidays, there were such actors as: Maxim Sukhanov, Marina Yesipenko, Anna Antonova, Dmitry Solomykin, Leonid Bichevin, Maria Berdinskikh, Vera Novikova, Alexander Galevsky, Alexander Pavlov, Vasilisa Sukhanova, to mention a few. Vladimir Mirzoyev’s new production rehearsal “Crazy Day or The Marriage of Figaro” is under way. The premiere will take place on September 10. From that day the countdown of the 94th season at the Vakhtangov Theater will start. The day before, on September 9 at 1.00 p.m. a traditional company meet is arranged – a holiday that is awaited, a holiday that gives us hope and that gathers together all the employees of the theater. The theatre plans will be announced and those, of the past season, summarized. The future anniversaries and new employees are going to be announced as well. But we still have two full weeks and plenty of things to do. While some actors rehearse the new production on the Main stage, the other part of the Vakhtangov team are preparing themselves for an extensive tour in Ulan-Ude, which will be held in the framework of “The Big Tour. Russian theater summer 2014”, organized by the Federal Theatre Tour Support Center of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation with the participation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Buryatia. From 1 to 8 September 2014 in the largest theatre center in the Eastern Siberia eight performances of the Vakhtangov Theatre are going to be presented. This is a large-scale project, in which 8 titles of the current repertoire of the theater will be played on two venues, followed by master classes and meetings with the audience.
