September 26, at 3 p.m. a performance-masquerade named “Mikhail Yurievitch is inviting …” dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the poet Mikhail Lermontov, will take place at the Theatre Square. During this event a musical and literary composition involving heroes of Lermontov’s “Masquerade” will be presented: Nina (an actress of the GRDT named after N.Bestuzhev Svetlana Polyanskaya), Arbenin (an actor of the GRDT named after N.Bestuzhev A.Kuznetsov), Zvezdich (an actor of the GRDT named after N.Bestuzhev A.Vasilevich) and, of course, the author himself. BSU’s students are organizing a competition for the best reading of Lermontov’s poems. In their turn, the students of Tchaikovsky College of Arts will involve all the audience into the whirlwind of the waltz. Even an Opera and Ballet Theatre soloist Zhagbaev Edward will perform the “Masquerade’s” author songs. Moreover, masks contest is planned as part of the festival, and the most beautiful mask will receive a special gift from the Vakhtangov Theatre. While the most vivid reading of the poem will be distinguished by a gift from the Buryat State Philharmonic, according to the Information Centre of the Ministry of Culture of Buryatia.
