The Vakhtangov Theatre productions of “Eugene Onegin” and “Anna Karenina” are the participants of the international programs “Golden Mask in Estonia” and “Golden Mask in Latvia”.

October 10 to 17, within the framework of the international programs of the “Golden Mask” Festival in Tallinn and Riga, the Vakhtangov Theatre will bring two productions: “Eugene Onegin” after A.Pushkin (director R. Tuminas) and “Anna Karenina”, a choreographic performance based on the novel by Leo Tolstoy (choreographer Angelica Cholina).

“Golden Mask in Estonia” was the first foreign project of the Russian festival and has long become a notable event in the cultural life of the country. This year the program in Estonia celebrated its anniversary.

The festival program in Tallinn will be opened with the Vakhtangov Theatre production of “Eugene Onegin”, which became a laureate of the “Golden Mask” award in 2013 in the categories “Best Director” (Rimas Tuminas) and “Best Costume Designer” (Maria Danilova). The performance will be presented on October 10 at Nordea Concert Hall at 7.00 p.m.

October 17, at Concert Hall Nordea at 7.00 p.m. the Vakhtangov Theatre presents the second show “Anna Karenina” (choreographer Angelica Cholina and actress Olga Lerman were nominated the “Golden Mask” award).

The “Golden Mask in Latvia 2014” Festival will be held on October 13 to 18. The festival will be held for the ninth time this year. It’s indispensable partner is the Rietumu bank.
