December 1, the awarding ceremony of the VII Annual Theatre Award “Star of the Theater-goer” took place at the Vakhtangov Theatre. “Star of the Theatre-goer” is the only Russian award in the field of theatrical art, which has the status of an independent Audience Choice Award. This year theatergoers from 85 countries all around the world participated in the voting. At the gala evening honored the best season of actors and directors who have become leaders in the online voting. Julia Peresild and Eduard Radzyukevich were invited as the masters of the ceremony. The ceremony directed by the Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Ivanov. The Vakhtangov Theatre is proud of its awards in the following nominations “Star of the Theater-goer”:

– In the category “The Best Performance for Children and the Youth” – “Puss in Boots” by Charles Perrault fairy tale, directed by Vladimir Ivanov. Vladimir Ivanov and Sergei Plotov are the Authors of the stage version, the set design by Maxim Obrezkov, musical director – Tatiana Agaeva, lighting designer – Maya Shavdatuashvili, choreographer – Oleg Glushkov. The cast consists of the graduates of Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute.

 – In the category “The best musical performance” – “Othello” based upon the play by William Shakespeare. Director-choreographer Angelica Cholina, set designer – Marius Yatsovskis, costume designer – Maria Danilova, Lighting Designer – Tadas Valeyka. Starring: Gregoriy Antipenko, Olga Lerman, Victor Dobronravov, Anton Semkin, Pavel Tekheda-Kardenas, Dmitry Gudochkin.

 – In the category “The Best Actor” – Victor Dobronravov for his part of Hloyne-Geneh in the production of “Give us a smile, O Lord”. Director – Rimas Tuminas, set designer – Adomas Yatsovskis, music – Faustas Latenas.

– “The Best Non-repertory company” – Vladimir Etush and Olga Tumaykina for the play “Goldiner the Victim ” (Theatre Company “Artfuror”). We thank all those who gave their votes to the Vakhtangov Theatre!
