November 30, 2015 at 2 p.m. the Novo-Dievitchiye cemetery will host the opening of the monument to the People’s Artist of USSR Yury Yakovlev.

The project was executed by sculptors Evgeniy Lansere and Alexander Teleshev.

Making and installation of the monument is financed by the Vakhtangov Theater’s own earnings and by the Charity Fund “Renova”.

Yury Yakovlev passed on November 30, 2013.

For millions of his admirers, his loved ones, friends and colleagues his resignation is a grievous loss forever. The memory and the love to a great actor and an outstanding man is kept sacredly in the hearts of the Vakhtangov theatre family.
