March 2, 2016. The acquaintance of the Vakhtangov team and the directing group of “The Imaginary Invalid”: the famous European director Silviu Purcarete and the composer Vasile Sirli.

Some of the future participants of the show were gathered together in the rehearsal room: Sergey Makovetskiy, Nina Nehlopchenko, Mikhail Vaskov, Sergey Pinegin, Oleg Makarov, Anna Antonova, Mariya Berdinskih,  Evgeny Kosarev, Mariya Volkova, Tatiana Kazuchits. The members of different theatre departments also were there.

Rimas Tuminas has said: “It’s a wonderful day for our theatre that we shall remember with joy. Now we’ve met with one if outstanding Europien directors — Silviu Purcarete. It’s an important responsibility and a challenge for all of us”.

Silviu Purcarete hopes that the work on this performance is going to turn a real pleasure.

The play “The Imaginary Invalid” supposes lots of music and voice. It’s a tradition for all plays by Moliere. That’s why the first day of rehearsals has started with singing.

Vasile Sirli clames: “I’d wish to investigate the levels and skills in music of the Vakhtangov actors in order to invent the most appropriate and beautiful sound for the show”.

Young Vakhtangov actors who are not in the list of the future performers of the “Imaginary Invalid” at the moment also took part in the acquaintance and the first rehearsal. It’s possible that they will be performing in the interludes of the show.
