The Vakhtangov Theatre on Tour in Karelia
At the edge of its 97th season, The Vakhtangov Theatre takes part in the all-Russia Programme ‘Big Theatre Tours’. For four seasons, the Programme opens opportunities to theatre amateurs of various regions to see performances of the leading Russian theatres.
In Karelia, these tours are supported by the Ministry for Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry for culture of the Republic of Karelia. In the period of August 29 – September 3, the Vakhtangov Theatre presents six shows on stages of the Musical and the National Theatres of Karelia.

Alexander Parfenchikov, the Head of Karelia, will meet the Vahktangov team on August 30. Kirill Krok, the Theatre General Manager, Natalya Kovaleva, the Director, and leading actors Lyudmila Maksakova, Sergey Makovetsky, Vladimir Simonov, Anna Dubrovskaya, Vladimir Vdovichenkov, Yuky Kraskov, Eugenia Kregzhde, and Maria Berdinskikh will take part in the special press-conference.
Outstanding actors Vasily Lanovoy, Evgeny Knyazev, Yulia Rutberg, Andrey Ilyin, Director Mikhail Tsitrinyak, the General Manager Kirill Krok as well as Victor Borzenko, Chief Editor of ‘Theatral’ Journal will run master classes for Karelians.
