Vladimir Medinsky visited the Vakhtangov Theatre at the traditional gathering and openness of the 97th season. The Minister expressed his compliments and handed the Order of Honour to Rimas Tuminas, the Artistic Director of the Theatre.

“I always visit the Vakhtangov Theatre with great pleasure – both when I come here for official purposes, and when I watch performances. Unfortunately, it does not happen as often as I would wish to”, confessed the Minister. Vladimir Medinsky pointed out that The Vakhtangov Theatre is an incredibly successful organization.

“Last season the Theatre reached an absolute record in attendance of its performances. Total number of visitors amounted 308 thousand people. During the 96th season, the Theatre showed 606 performances, which is also a record”, said the Minister and wished inspiration and success to the Vakhtangov team.
