The first night of ‘Richard III’, a famous historical play by William Shakespeare happened at the New stage of the Vakhtangov Theatre on the 7th of October, 2017. The play is staged by Avtandil Varsimashvili, who believes that this genius piece of art is a guidance of dictatorship of all times and nations.

Georgian director worked together with his team – Miron Shelidze, Teo Kuhianizde and Eliso Ordjonikidze.

Maxim Sevrenovsky proves a superb villain, but he does not dominate the stage. Both him and Olga Tumaikona, Elena Sotnikova,  Ksenia Kubasova, Igor Kartashev and other actors form a strong, picturesque, full of dynamics and emotions show.
