‘Poverty is no vice’ first night at the Simonov platform

10 December 2017

Alexander Koruchekov is the Stage Director and Professor of Boris Schukin Theatre Institute and of the State Institute of Theatre Art.  His productions unfailingly attract public to the Vakhtangov Theatre.

‘Poverty is no vice’ is a new performance staged by Alexander Koruchekov with his students just graduated from Boris Schukin Theatre Institute and of the State Institute of Theatre Art.

The show introduces motives commedia dell’arte into the well-known play by Alexander Ostrovsky.  The masked comedy brings additional charm, sparkling humour and festivity to the classical Russian play, and this becomes a pleasant souvenir Alexander Koruchekov and young actors present to the Simonov platform audience.
