Boris Valuev

Boris Leonidovich Valuev was born 23 February, 1947 in Moscow. In 1969 he graduated with honours from The Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry (Interior Design Department).In 1969-1977 he worked in design institutes of the Moscow Local Planning Authority, on such projects as Mosproject-3, Mosproject-2, as an architect, senior achitect, the head of the architectors’ group in D. Solopov’s workshop. Valuev took part in designing and building of such famous places as Arbat Cinema Hall, Klimatron (Tsytsin Main Moscow Botanical Garden of Academy of Sciences), Soviet Ministers’ Residence Pine Forest (near Kislovodsk), reconstruction of the Vorobyovskoya Highway Government Residence Hall.In 1977-1991 Valuev worked in the Republican Institute of the Monumental and Decorative Art of the Soviet Union and in other organizations of the Artistic Fund and the Soviet Union Ministry of Cultural Affairs.In 1992 Boris Valuev began his career of a theatre artist. In 1996-1999 he worked as an Art Director of The Satirikon Theatre and has worked on a number of projects in different Moscow theatres as well as in the graphic printing industry (creation of theatre posters, programs, and brochures).Since 1998 Valuev works as a Director of the Design Department at the ART TRADING CONTRACT (interiors of cottages, flats, offices, hotels and restaurants). Plays staged at The Vakhtangov Theatre
