At the opening of the New Stage of Vakhtangov Theater, Angelica Cholina creates a new play based on the music of classical romantic ballets – “Men and Women” (or Scenarios by Which People Live).
This performance is a story woven from permanent transformations of relationships and feelings: coquetry, love, passion, jealousy, rivalry and betrayal. Men and women – shown in the way they are and in the way they want to seem to be.
Angelica Cholina:
“The nature of a man and a woman is different. They try to cognize each other without being sincere and open. Love brings only pain because people don’t know how to make their feelings a gratuitous gift. The nature of love is contrary to the human nature; “I give” is the antipode of the selfish “I want.” People strive for happiness but neglect there principles and therefore they end up in a failure. That is why they cannot be happy all through.”
The first performance of the play will continue “The Parade of First Nights” of the New Stage and will take place on October 7, 2015.
Running time: 2 hours 10 min with one intermission.
The play is recommended for audience older than 16 years (16 +).
