Waiting for Godot

Tragicomedy of two days

A famous tragicomedy “Waiting for Godot” by Samuel Beckett will be premiered on the 2nd of February 2018 at the New Stage of the Vakhtangov Theatre. The play is staged by Vladimir Beldiyan, a graduate of Workshop of Rimas Tuminas.

“In our rational and pragmatic century, where else can you meet such fools who keep waiting and hoping if not at the theatre?” (Rimas Tuminas)

“It is a game, everything is a game. When all four of them are lying on the ground, that cannot be handled naturalistically. That has got to be done artificially, balletically. Otherwise everything becomes an imitation, an imitation of reality. It should become clear and transparent, not dry. It is a game in order to survive” (Samuel Beckett).
