My Peaceful Motherland…

The premiere held on 2011 .05. 16

Creative union of director Vladimir Ivanov, actors Elena and Aleksandr Mikhaylov, artist Maksim Obrezkov, famous for Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s “Matryona’s Home” staging, this time joined together in another work – the performance “My Quiet Homeland…”.If you are tired of the din, bustle and furious pace of our century, if you’ve had enough of aggressive bawl that seized the world around you, if you are overwhelmed with mirthless thoughts – than this performance is exactly what you need.

It is about Russia with its pristine white churches on the hills, purple sunsets, vespers and matins in a village temple, grandmother Praskoviya and the men of faith… It is about the world where the love for God and dear land and beneficence stand above all other things.“Thank God for everything!”

The duet of the Mikhaylovs with their clear voices will bring peace, faith in goodness, spiritual wealth and poetry of a quiet, wise and simple life to the stern reality of our world.

On the incredibly homely settled stage runs the poetry of Anna Akhmatova, Bulat Okudzhava, Georgy Ivanov and Igor Severyanin, the songs about Russia set to words of Nikolay Rubtsov, Joseph Brodsky, Nikolay Gumilev, Boris Chichibabin, Vladimir Nabokov, Sergey Tolstoy, Fyodor Glinka, Vladimir Volkov, mother Lyudmila Kononova and celibate priest Roman. You will hear the music of Gennady Zavolokin, Boris Shukin, Aleksandr Sukhanov, Yury Edelshtein and others. The marvelous quartet adorns the performance: guitar – Evgeny Ivanov, violin – Polina Evlanova, flute – Olga Zhevlakova, violoncello – …

Running time: 1 hours 30 min.

The play is recommended for audience older than 16 years (16 +).
