Tatyna Shukhmina

Meritorious Artist of the RF Tatyana Mitrofanovna Shukhmina (Schukina) was born on 14 (27) June 1901 in Voronezh.She was Yevgeny Vakhtangov’s student (1919-1922).She worked at the Vakhtangov Theatre from 1919 till 1956.In 1923-1974 she was a teacher at the Schukin Theatre School (professor).In 1945-1974 she was a teacher at GITIS.Tatyana Shukhmina taught the art of make-up, eurhythmics and movement and founded at these schools departments of plastic expressiveness of actor.She trained many contemporary actors and directors, including famous film director Georgiy (Yegor) Borisovich Schukin (1925-1983).Tatyana Mitrofanovna Shukhmina (Schukina) died on 5 October 1974.
