The play ‘An Ordinary Miracle’ by Evgeny Schwartz, by his own admission, took 10 years to compose, because he especially valued it and worked on it only in those hours “when he felt like a man”. Evgeny dedicated this work to his wife Ekaterina. They married 15 years before the play’s release. The important quote at the very beginning of the play conveys the playwright’s thoughts with literal accuracy: “I’ve been married for fifteen years, and I’m still in love with my wife, like a boy, honestly!”
