The play “Egor Bulychev and others” was prepared for September — in this month the whole country celebrated the jubilee of Gorky who returned from Italy, forty years of his literary and public activity. The more responsible the production of “Egor Bulychev” was for the theatre — it was the first play written by Gorky after many years of silence.
